Related to public censure

Public Key

means the key of a Key Pair that may be publicly disclosed by the holder of the corresponding Private Key and that is used by a Relying Party to verify digital signatures created with the holder's corresponding Private Key and/or to encrypt messages so that they can be decrypted only with the holder's corresponding Private Key.

Public body

means a devolved public body listed in Schedule 3 of the Ethical Standards in Public Life etc. (Scotland) Act 2000, as amended.

Public or private safety agency

means a unit of state or local government, a special purpose district, or a private firm, which provides or has the authority to provide firefighting, police, ambulance, emergency medical services or hazardous materials response.

Public schools

means the schools and other institutions mentioned in subsection (4) of this section;

Censure

means an official expression of disapproval or condemnation.

External inspection

means an inspection made when a boiler is in operation.

Public safety agency

means a functional division of a public agency which provides fire fighting, law enforcement, medical, or other emergency services.

Public school academy

means a public school academy, urban high school academy, or strict discipline academy operating under the revised school code.

Free appropriate public education

means special education and related services that are provided at public expense and under public supervision and direction, and without charge, meet the standards of the Department of Public Instruction, include an appropriate preschool, elementary or secondary school education; and are provided in conformity with an IEP.

Public fund

means the state treasurer or a retirement system.

Public garage

means every building or other place where vehicles or vessels are kept and stored and where a charge is made for the storage and keeping of vehicles and vessels.

Public school

means an elementary, middle, or high school established under state law, regulated by the local state authorities in the various political subdivisions, funded and maintained by public taxation, and open and free to all children of the particular district where the school is located.

Psychiatric Day Treatment Facility

means a mental health facility, licensed by the State of Texas, which provides treatment for individuals suffering from acute, mental and nervous disorders in a structured psychiatric program utilizing individualized treatment plans with specific attainable goals and objectives appropriate both to the patient and the treatment modality of the program and that is clinically supervised by a doctor of medicine who is certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. The facility at which the treatment is performed must have a contract with Health Plan to provide its services to Members, must treat its patients not more than eight hours in any twenty-four hour period, and must be accredited by the Program for Psychiatric Facilities, or its successor, of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations.

Public entity

means this State, a political subdivision of this STATE or an agency, board, commission or department of this state or a political subdivision of this state.

Regulatory Flood Protection Elevation

means the "Base Flood Elevation" plus the "Freeboard". In "Special Flood Hazard Areas" where Base Flood Elevations (BFEs) have been determined, this elevation shall be the BFE plus two (2) feet of freeboard. In "Special Flood Hazard Areas" where no BFE has been established, this elevation shall be at least two (2) feet above the highest adjacent grade.

Licensure

means a method of regulation whereby the Commonwealth, through the issuance of a license, authorizes a person possessing the character and minimum skills to engage in the practice of a profession or occupation that is unlawful to practice without such license.

Medical Marijuana Treatment Center

means a "not-for-profit entity, as defined by Massachusetts law only, registered by the Department of Public Health, that acquires, cultivates, possesses, processes (including development of related products such as food, tinctures, aerosols, oils or ointments), transfers, transports, sells, distributes, dispenses, or administers marijuana, products containing marijuana, related supplies, or educational materials to qualifying patients or their personal caregivers."

Chemical Dependency Treatment Center

means a facility which is a Participating Provider and, which provides a program for the Treatment of chemical dependency pursuant to a written Treatment plan approved and monitored by a Participating Physician and which facility is also:

Public work

means public work as defined in section 2 of P.L.1963, c.150 (C. 34:11-56.26) and which is subject to the provisions of P.L.1963, c.150 (C. 34:11-56.25 et seq.). Public work shall not include the provision of goods or products.

public hospital

means a governmental entity of a political subdivision of the state of Iowa that is authorized by legislative authority. For purposes of this subrule, a "public hospital" must also meet the requirements of Iowa Code section 249J.3. Under Iowa Code section 249J.3, a "public hospital" must be licensed pursuant to Iowa Code chapter 135B and governed pursuant to Iowa Code chapter 145A (merged hospitals), Iowa Code chapter 347 (county hospitals), Iowa Code chapter 347A (county hospitals payable from revenue), or Iowa Code chapter 392 (creation by city of a hospital or health care facility). For the purposes of this definition, "public hospital" does not include a hospital or medical care facility that is funded, operated, or administered by the Iowa department of human services, Iowa department of corrections, or board of regents, or the Iowa Veterans Home.

Public land

means land owned by the federal government, the state of Iowa, or a political subdivision of the state and land acquired or developed for public recreation pursuant to Iowa Code section 321I.8.

Public contract

means a sale or other disposal, or a purchase, lease, rental or other acquisition, by the College of personal property, services, including personal services, public improvements, public works, minor alterations, or ordinary repair or maintenance necessary to preserve a public improvement. (ORS 279A.010(1)(z)).

Stormwater management planning agency

means a public body authorized by legislation to prepare stormwater management plans.

Public Safety

and/or "Nuisance" means anything which is injurious to the safety or health of an entire community or neighborhood, or any considerable number of persons, or unlawfully obstructs the free passage or use, in the customary manner, of any navigable lake, or river, bay, stream, canal, or basin.

Chemical dependency professional

means a person certified as a chemical dependency professional by the department of health under chapter 18.205 RCW.

Private investigator

means any natural person who engages in the business of, or accepts employment to make, investigations to obtain information on (i) crimes or civil wrongs; (ii) the location, disposition, or recovery of stolen property; (iii) the cause of accidents, fires, damages, or injuries to persons or to property; or (iv) evidence to be used before any court, board, officer, or investigative committee.
